Craven County Marriage Records, 1773-1908
The following search is based upon the book Marriages of Craven County, 1851-1908, & Marriage Bonds, 1773-1868 abstracted by Jo Ann Ernul Murphy and Eula Pearl Beauchamp (privately published, 2006, now out of print).
This site contains an index to the Marriage Registers of Craven County Books 1 through 7 (indicated by a number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7) and the Marriage Bonds of Craven County Volumes 1 through 3 (indicated by Vol. 1, Vol. 2 or Vol. 3). These books are housed at the Craven County Register of Deeds office in New Bern, North Carolina. The original marriage bonds are housed in the North Carolina Office of Archives and History. Additional information may be available in the original registers (including witnesses, ages, places of residence, and for Books 3 and 4 the names of parents).
Due to requests to republish the book, the authors generously allowed the library to place their database on this website.
